Maybe backpacks and bikes weren't the best crime gear and getaway vehicle for a couple guys in Dowagiac. Dowagiac police had stopped the two and found out in the process that two guys matching their description had just knocked off a store on M-51 north of town. The Cass County Sheriff's department responded, found some of the stolen stuff in their backpacks, and got the two cyclists to fess up. They were charged with breaking and entering and were scheduled to see a judge today (Wednesday). Police don't think these guys are responsible for the unusually high number of break ins in Cass County this month.
