Lincoln Township Trustees approved their new budget Tuesday night. Township Clerk Stacy Loar-Porter says the greatest change in the 2010-2011 budget is the 4.5% decrease in revenue and the 2.6% increase in expenditures.
To make up for the loss, Loar-Porter says the township laid off three employees this year, withheld pay increases for employees, increased health insurance deductibles, limited equipment purchases and increased in-house tasks.
But, Loar-Porter says residents shouldn't be affected by the changes in this year's budget.
But Loar-Porter says if local revenue sharing continues to go down, it will be near impossible to prevent effects on residents. She says she plans to host quarterly financial meetings with the township board, to help respond to changing revenue amounts.
