Another candidate for the 79th District State House seat has emerged. On Thursday, area resident Bruce Gorenflo will announce his candidacy for the Republican nomination at an event at the Bruce Vernon Gym and Youth Center, at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, in Benton Harbor. Gorenflo works as a technical writer and product communications coordinator at JohnsonRauhoff, and says that experiences there have shown him the importance of helping local businesses grow:
Gorenflo also serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Christian Involvement in Service, a locally-based Christian missionary organization...and Secretary on the Board of Deacons for Napier Parkview Baptist Church. He says that his moral beliefs aren't the focus of the campaign, but they do play a role in who he is:

He's a graduate of Saint Joseph High School, Lake Michigan College, and Western Michigan University, and has a wife and three sons. Also in the race to replace the outgoing State Representative John Proos are Al Pscholka and Paul Peterson.
