A Lawton man is dead after a fatal accident Monday night. Van Buren County Sheriff Department's Lt. Bill Lux says 58-year-old Evertt Painter was driving westbound on M-43, when he clipped an ambulance and then went on to hit three other cars. But, Lt. Lux says the accident didn't end there.
Painter died at the scene. The driver of the third car hit, 40-year-old Jay Oakley, was taken to Bronson Hospital with neck and back injuries. No one else was injured in the collisions. Lux says the sheriff's department is still investigating what might have caused the accident.
Lux says those tests results should be released by Wednesday.
